Women and Child Welfare
A.Awareness about Menstrual Hygiene - At IDA,we believe in empowering Women with proper health and hygiene knowledge and facilities. We focus a lot on Menstrual Hygiene by conducting seminars for coming of age girls and providing correct information before they hit puberty. Our Seminars also focus on Menstrual Hygiene solutions that are to be used by all girls and women of reproductive age. We plan to install Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines and Disposal Machines in schools to provide hassle-free access to napkins.
B.Nutrition Center for Pregnant Women and malnourished children in line with ‘POSHAN ABHIYAN’ of Government - The focus of IDA here is to lay emphasis on nutritional status of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children from 0-6 years age.
Maternal malnutrition increases the risk of gestational anemia, hypertension, miscarriages and fetal deaths during pregnancy, premature/preterm delivery and maternal mortality.
Correct feeding in the first six years of life is particularly important due to its role in lowering morbidity and mortality, reducing the risk of chronic disease throughout their life span, and promoting regular mental and physical development.
